Frequently asked questions

What is embryo transfer?
Embryo transfer is an efficient way of increasing the number of offspring from selected females.

How is Embryo transfer performed?
Donor females are stimulated with hormones to release a greater number of ova on ovulation.  The donor female is then artificially inseminated with donor sperm and the resulting embryos flushed out 5 or 6 days later.  Embryos are then placed in recipient females or frozen for use at a later date.
